The Virginia Living Museum recently opened the Goodson House, a first-of-its-kind exhibit on green building techniques.

In spring 2008, the Friends of Chesapeake Gateways and the National Park Service partnered to offer a series of workshops on “Greening Your Gateway.” The objectives were to:

  • Gain understanding of a range of green building and sustainability practices
  • See first hand how Gateway sites made sustainability a priority in building projects
  • Learn how to identify easy and practical greening opportunities at sites
  • Learn ways to communicate environmentally-friendly practices within and beyond Gateway sites
